“ In every brushstroke, a part of me. In every color, a feeling. I immerse myself in a world of textures and nuances, where the canvas becomes a mirror of my soul. With each work, I release emotions and sensations, creating an authentic reflection of my essence. Each piece tells a story, and as it is contemplated, the viewer writes their own. My art is an introspective journey, a dialogue between my history and inspiration.”

Audino Díaz, Mexico, (1973). Vestiges of El Dorado 0.3.1., 2009
Mixed media on gold and silver leaf
120 x 120 x 5 cm
Vestiges of El Dorado 0.3.1 is inspired by El Dorado, the surprising legend that rides between the real and the imaginary … recreating desolate landscapes and inhospitable places of our vast region. The work integrates a highly experimental approach in the use and manipulation of certain materials … constructing imaginary cartographies with gold and silver. Geometrized forms emerge where the figure-background relationship is expressed through compositional order … suggesting aerial views of distant and unknowable lands. The serial register gives the ensemble a certain scientific character that does not depart from the artist’s anthropological spirit.

Acrylic on hardboard

“ My paintings also constitute an expression of beauty, though not of a conventional beauty, but rather an unusual and personal one, more or less successfully achieved in each work, arising from continually renewed principles driven by intrinsic demands. They therefore do not possess the security of something permanent, even when they seek it, but instead become precarious things, like so many achievements of our time.”
